Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Divorce - non-compliance

My husband and I got a divorce and it was final on July 31, 2007. He has not met any of the provisions in the agreement to date as is stipulated in the divorce agreement signed by the judge. He was to have sent paperwork in for my portion of his pension account within 45 days - he did not. He was to have given me a cash amount within 30 days he has not. He was to have gotten his taxes done for 04, 05 and 06 within 30 days - he has not. I have filed contempt charges before and all that does is get him to court in 30 days and he writes a check and we go home. Is there anything stronger I can do to force him to comply to our divorce agreement. someone suggested I file a judgement and that would freeze his assets until he paid me and met all his obligations. What's your advice. He hasn't given me a dime in 2 years.

Take him to court again and ask for an income deduction order to be issued which will provide automatic payment out of his check. Ask the judge to find him in contempt and either suspend his license, ask for jail time or ask for a Writ of Fi. Fa. for the arrears which will allow you to garnish his bank accounts too.
