Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
My divorce papers states that my ex pays $708.00 per month for my daughter. There is no mention that the months are broken down by days. She will graduate May 25, 2012. He is saying that he will only owe me for May 1-25. and that breaks down to $657.50. Is this correct or is the $708.00 a flat rate that he owes?

Your ex is a jerk (and wrong). In 31 years of law practice and many thousands of divorces, I have never seen papers worded in a way that would support your ex's wording.
When he violates the agreement. you will have to decide if you want to spend a few thousand dollars suing him for contempt, or instead, take a copy of this post, frame it and mail it to him, which will cost a lot less and will give you the satisfaction of knowing that (1) he is a jerk for treating you and his child that badly, and (2) that he owes you $110.50.
You could also sue him in small claims court and win not just the $110.50 but also the court costs, meaning his being a jerk will cost him a couple hundred extra dollars.
