Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I have had all my divorce proceedings/child custody/support etc. for the last 5 years in Cobb County, Georgia. I have been to court 6 times within in those 5 years and the proceedings have never come to a final closing of the case. Myself and the children have not lived in the state for over 5 years. We reside in South Carolina. My ex husband been incarcerated for failing to comply last year (ne now resides in North Carolina), and was in jail for 4 months. Just before his incarceration his lawyer started a modification order to reduce child support. It has been over a year and has not been acted upon. Can I move my case to the county I now reside in event though this modification is hanging out in space? If I can move it how long would the process take?

I strongly recommend that you consult with a South Carolina family law attorney.

As a general rule a case cannot be moved while pending from state to state. The person you need to be asking is YOUR attorney, who will know if it's possible.
