How do I request from the courts for me and the other party to go through mediation to finalize our divorce decree?

Mediation has nothing to do with finalizing a divorce decree.

Many counties have mandatory mediation, which may simplify a divorce by turning it into what essentially is an uncontested case.

Your lawyer is the one you should be asking for details about your mediation process.
