Is my divorce over if I do not sign the papers?

If I do not sign the papers for the divorce can my wife still get the divorce?

Re: Is my divorce over if I do not sign the papers?

In Georgia if one party wants a divorce, it's a pretty sure bet the divorce will eventually happen.

Signing or not signing determines if a case is contested or uncontested, so it will affect the cost and time frame and possibly how various issues are decided.

Even if you agree with papers, you'd want a lawyer to read them before signing. Feel free to call me if that is something you want to do. 404-768-3509.

Re: Is my divorce over if I do not sign the papers?

If you sign the papers, it means that you agree to the divorce. If you do not sign the papers, your spouse may still ask the court for a divorce and in essence sue you for a divorce.

If you would like to discuss any issues further, please feel free to contact my office. My contact information is below. Thank you.
