Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Divorce Stalling

My husband and I seperated back in June of 2008. He was served with divorce papers in Atlanta in July of 2008, and never answered to anything. He later moved to Mississippi. We have had numerous court dates, but he ALWAYS gets in touch with the judge to try to get the court date changed. My attorney seems to be doing nothing because he says there is nothing he can do...But I'd like a second opinion. I just want to move on with my life and I can't because my husband keeps stalling. What can I do???

Re: Divorce Stalling

Your questions can't be answered in this type of forum. All the facts need to be looked into.

However, just like with a plumber, if you don't have confidence in your lawyer, call around; see who will give you a second opinion.

Re: Divorce Stalling

An anonymous internet forum is not the appropriate place to get a "second opinion" on a pending case in which you have a lawyer, based on a couple sentences. Either work with your lawyer, or retain another one.
