Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

divorce(uncontested)

This has been 2 1/2 years coming. I was supposed to get divorce papers in mail, but instead i'm asked to appear in court for the divorce. Even if it's uncontested i still need to appear? what happens if i can't make it?

Re: divorce(uncontested)

If a divorce has lasted 2 1/2 years it's far from uncontested. If there's a court date, and you fail to appear, you've usually given the other party a blank check. Discuss this with your lawyer.
