Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
I am divorced and have one minor son with my ex. As per the parenting plan, minor cannot leave US till he turns 18. I have to travel out of country to perform my daughter's wedding but the father of minor refuses to keep minor in my absence so that I am unable to travel. I also mentioned if he doesnt want those additional visitation days than I would be keeping nanny for those 8 days I will be gone out of country but he threatens me that he will get me in trouble legally if I do so. Nowhere in the decree or parenting plan it mentions that I cannot leave the child and go. It only states child cannot go out of country without both parents consent till he is 18. Can someone guide me if I can actually travel without minor without facing any problems from court or ex. I dont want my daughter to marry without any parent there.

Wihout reading your parenting plan no one can accuratelyansweryou, but if it's worded like most, you'd get a responsible family member to stay with your child. Some plans would give him the right to first refusal where he could veto that and take care ofthe child. Again,no one here has read the whole plan,so callyour lawyer for an accurate answer.
