Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I am a divorced mother of 3 young children. My ex-husband has refused to be involved in their lives. He does pick them up every other weekend like he's suppose to and nothing more. He doesn't call them, not even on their birthdays and he wants to be a father when he's convenient. Is there anything that can be done legally to get him more involved in their lives? I have tried talking to him but to no avail. Thanks

You can't legally make a dad be a dad.

Probably, he believes he is doing enough (paying child support and participating in visitation). Unless your children complain to him (without your pushing), it is unlikely he will change. Just consider it a blessing that he actually picks them up to spend time with them. Several people who write in have complained about the fathers of their children being absent during visitation days.
