If there are items in the house that were awarded to you as part of the final divorce decree, and your ex-spouse is preventing you from retrieving those items, you may consider filing a contempt motion with the court that granted the divorce. The court will set a hearing time and date and you will be required to appear and explain the situation. The judge can then send the a sheriff out to the house with you to safely retrieve your items.

Best of luck.******The above does not establish an attorney-client relationship and is intended for informational purposes only.******

If your divorce decree doesn't give you that property, it isn't yours.

If it does, and your spouse isn't complying, call your lawyer from the divorce to first write a letter, and then, if needed, to file a contempt.
