Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

dropped law suit

My ex wife filed a civil action against me. we have joint physical, legal custody. She was petitioning for full custody and more child support. We worked with a Psychotherapist for my sons benifit and to resolve issues. Two days before the court date she canceled her suit and the Judge signed off on the cancelation. She was going to lose her suit due to the findings by the Psychotherapist and due threats she had eamiled and phoned to me.

I am looking for a third party answer: can I recover my legal expenses as well as my 1/2 of the expenses from the Pschotherapist ?

She filed the original suit. I had to obtain counsel and we agreed on the Psychotherapist all due to her frivolous lawsuit.

I have a counter suit prepared. The whole thing has been horrible for my son and expensive for my family. What rights do I have ? and can I recoup my expenses from my ex-wife ?

Re: dropped law suit

You should have filed your counterclaim before she dismissed. That way, your counterclaim would still be viable and entitle you to go to court. Now, you are going to have to take your chances that the judge will award your expenses.
