Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Can I get emancipated with financial help?
First of I would like to say that both of my parents are consuming medication Illegally, my dad used to do crystal meth about 10 years ago, he no longer does it. But he is still on pills (Benzodipines), and well he is pretty much a dead beat to me, currently I am staying with my mom, I am currently 17, My mom does anything and every thing for her pills, which she gets illegally, she commits adultery, she is currently married, but she has 3 or 4 guys that she goes out with almost everynight when her husband is out at work, I have a brother and a sister, that whom she leaves me with every night while she does that, she doesnt ask me to watch them, she just walks out. She comes back from time to time, usually when her husband calls, then leaves again. Leaving me with the kids, but she doesnt do anything in return for me. I need medical help, I have two bad teeth that need serious attention. I have been to the dentist recently, I had to get the counselors and the school nurse to ''make'' her take me, because she just refuses to. She gets mad at me for telling them about everything. If I dare interrupt her process of ''going out'' every night, she gets angry at me, for wanting to get help. Now she stays mad at me, what are my options?

Your county Department of Family and Childrens Services (DFACs) can give you guidance. You may want to obtain information about the possible effects that asking DFACS may have on the lives of your siblings and you before you go to DFACS. You may want to contact Georgia Legal Services in Dalton, Georgia to consult with a member of their staff about that.
