Equitable distribution, wife's family property

I have been married 13 years. My parents gifted me 16 acres of the family farm (inherited from my maternal grandparents) to build our house on in 1997. My husband left me and our 4 young children in 01/01. I have been paying the mortage and property taxes alone begining 01/01. Is the gifted property subject to equitable distribution? The original title had only my name, however, we added his name in order to use the property as collateral for the construction loan for our house.

The 16 acres is not subject to an equitable division, but the house built upon the 16 acres is subject to equitable division.
