Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Establishing Paternity
I've been happily married 4 years, however I recently received paperwork from Georgia CSE concerning an ex that claims her 3 year old daughter, whom I had no knowledge of until now,is ''allegedly'' mine, yet another man (whom she was engaged to at the time) signed the child's birth certificate. She is attempting to collect child support from me. Should I request a paternity test or legal counsel before I meet with the CSE Agency?

Re: Establishing Paternity
Absolutely hire an attorney before you speak with anyone. The paternity test would be a part of the proceedings if the mother tried to sue you for child support.
