Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Ex-Spouse failed to honor settlement agreement.

I divorced in 2003 and my ex-spouse hasn't honored our settlement agreement. He has given me no documentation concerning the sale of our home. I believe this is due to his dishonesty in this transaction.I uncovered a great deal of info in my search to find the truth. Does the fact that he has failed to honor our settlement agreement make it null and void? Legal aid suggested I file a contempt of court.

Re: Ex-Spouse failed to honor settlement agreement.

No, your settlement agreement became part of your divorce decree and makes it a court order to be followed. Any failure to follow that document is contempt of court.
