Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

ex-wife gives new children my last name

My ex-wife kept my last name after our divorce. I thought it would be easier on my children if their mother still had the same last name. Problem: she has not remarried and has no idea who the father of her new son is, but now the boy is growing up with my last name. Is there anything I can do to stop this? If not for this child then for any other children she pops out in the future?

ex-wife gives new children my last name

While I am not licensed in Georgia, let's look at the situation -- your ex-wife has had a child out-of-wedlock by another man since you two divorced and that child has to have a last name; your ex-wife, the child's mother, gave the child HER last name, which is perfectly normal; you are upset because since she did not change her hame when you divorced it is also your last name.Grow up. It is also the last name of lots of other folks. You appear to be trying to control the woman and her actions even after your divorce.

Parents can choose child's name

Parents of a child can give the child any name they want. Third parties, such as ex-husbands, cannot influence this decision. There is nothingyou can do to change this child's name or any future children your ex-wife may have in the future.
