Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

ex-wife not honoring court order

my ex-wife will not let me see my daughter. I have court ordered visitation. I have called a lawyer and was basically told that she was in contempt of court and I could take her to court. My understanding at this point is I can pay to obtain a lawyer 1000-1500 dollars go to court in 60-90 days and she MIGHT end up having to pay a fine and there is no guarentee that she will not do it again and again. Do us dads not have any rights besides the right to pay child support?

Re: ex-wife not honoring court order

Dads have the same rights as everyone else. You have the right to represent yourself and take your chances with the legal system and you have the right to hire an attorney and still take your chances with the legal system. Beware of any attorney who purports to "guarantee" results. He/she is not being honest with you.
