Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Want to get father of child to take Paternity test

This is for a friend of mine. She is pregnant by a man who is in the military serving in Korea. He admits that he may be the father, but won't take a paternity test. Is there some way he can be forced to take a paternity test?

This is complicated, but she can file a paternity suit in the county of her residence and see what happens. She needs to consult with a local attorney.

A Georgia court has the authority to order the suspected father to take a paternity test. The complicating factors include whether or not Georgia is the correct place to bring the legitimation action and the matter of the suspected father being in the military. Your friend needs to see an attorney and the sooner the better.
