Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Im a father that has primary physical custody of my two daughters. The mother has hired a lawyer and is trying to get them back. I've had them for a year now. I cant afford a lawyer. Do I need one? I have plenty of evidence that she is a drug abuser. I've got her background check and notice that she was charged with prostitution, on probation for possesion of marijuana and has aggravated assault charges pending. Should I be worried? Should I take out child support because she never helps me with the kids but I dont want the court to say that I took out child support because she's taking me to court?

If your children matter to you, you CANNOT afford not to have a lawyer. You will almost certainly do badly because you will lack the legal skills to present your case. The fact that you are not getting child support now, which you should be getting, shows that you have already misshandled things. The fact you said you got her "background check", which may have involved you committing a crime, as you can't legally run her criminal history, reinforces this. Even if you have to borrow to get a lawyer, you need one immediately.
