Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
My father has my vehicles title in his name, refuses to sign it over
Ok, here is my problem. I have worked my behind off for four years to buy a motorcycle. I finally buy the bike of my dreams at age 17. Some issues arise during the title process and we have to get a bonded vehicle title. During all the commotion, my father and I agreed to have it titled in his name to avoid further complications. Fast forward 3 months: I am involved in a wreck. My father cancels the insurance, and returns the license plate. The title is in his name, and he will not sign it over to me, even though he did not pay as much as a single penny for the bike. He expects me to sell it as it is and buy a car. I can't get anything for it in it's condition, I was hoping to fix it and continue riding it. He has told me if I ride it he will call the police and have me arrested. What can I do to get my title, so I can insure, and get a license plate for a bike that's rightfully mine?
Thanks!
P.S.
I bought the bike in full cash, 100 percent my own.

If you are at least 18, you could spend a few thousand dollars on a lawyer and sue your father on what, absent a written contract with the terms spelled out, will boil down to a swearing contest between you and your father. You may or may not win and you will spend a lot of money. (You possibly lose because the title is the written evidence of ownership).
If you are still 17, all this is completely up to your dad, and you lose.
