Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
It is a felony?
If someone misses child support payments for over a year and the amount exceeds $10K, is it true that it is a felony? If it is, would the person be required to serve jail time or would he/she be able to liquadate assets and continue working to pay back the debt? Ultimately, would a trial be forthcoming?

Re: It is a felony?
I am unaware of any felony provision. The normal course is to file a motion for civil contempt in Superior Court, have the judge set re-payment terms, and if those terms are not followed, the possibility of jail exists.
