Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
i have fired my lawyer because she had been cewed out by the judge on 3 occations for failure to fallow proper filing protocal for the case, never answering questions, it took them 28 days of the 30 days from the ruling of the judge to send him the childsupport worksheet. I requested a copy of my file and they kept giving me a run around preventing me to get it for over 30 days, i fired them and now they are telling me i have to sign a consent to withdraw and that i am responsible for picking everything up from the county court house. I have no idea what consent to withdraw is supposed to be or if i should even allow it considering they haven't compleated the manditory work that they are required to do before i had fired them.

Lawyers cannot just "quit" a case when you fire them. They need a court's permission, so if you don't consent to their withdrawal, they remain your attorney of record.
