Can I force the father of my child to take a paternity test?

Mr. Cobb is incorrect. Fathers can file to legitimate (not mothers).

But you can file for child support and a DNA test generally will be ordered. If the father is not paying support, the cheapest route may be a criminal case. You can also file a civil case for $25 or less via the state child support office.
