Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I'm in foster care and I was wondering if my old neighbor could get custody of me. She's knows me really well, and is familiar with my case. She's willing to help me, and do what it takes. What's the process that she would have to go through in getting me out of my situation ? Will that even be considered a possibility?

If your old neighbor is serious about taking you in, and willing to do what it takes, the first thing your old neighbor needs to do is consult with a family law attorney about the process and cost. Most family law attorneys will give a free consultation, so this should not cost your neighbor anything up front. However, if your neighbor decides to move forward with the process, your neighbor will have to pay the family law attorney for his/her time and will also have to pay certain courts costs and fees. Your neighbor will also have to be willing to open up his/her home to investigation and have his/her life scrutinized. This will not be a easy or quick process and there is no guarantee of success.

Best of luck.*****The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.******
