Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Fraud before divorce
My soon to be ex has opened up two credit card accounts and transferred a third from a store card to a visa. She has illegally used my SS# and now is ruining my credit. I have told the credit card companys's of this, Fraud is what I call it but there is a child involved and I would not really want to put the childs mother in jail. I have yet to see a bill from any of these and only found out by a credit report. She tells me she will pay but the fact that my credit is ruined is the problem. What rights do I have and how can I fix my credit problem?

Re: Fraud before divorce
Since your divorce is apparently not final, I would file a motion with the court to make sure this issue is covered in any settlement agreement. If there is no agreement, you can still get a judge to cover the issue in his/her final judgment. I would advise you to consult with a local attorney.
