Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My friend is going through a bitter divorce. Her attorney died a week before her final mediation was to take place and her jury trial is now scheduled to take place in less than a month. She just received notice that the law firm that the deceased attorney worked with is closing it's doors and has filed a letter to that effect with the court. How hard will it be to get a continuance? Does she have a right to ask for more time to attain new counsel? What are the chances the judge would refuse such a request?

The obvious way for your friend to get that information is to get a new lawyer.
