Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
I have a friend who's ex-wife recently got married. She had her new husband to adopt there child. She sent the guy adoption papers, at the time he was not in the position to get an attorney bacause he had been laid off from his job for 8 months. He did not sign the papers, nor respond to them. he lives in Georgia her in South Carolina. Is there anyway he can get his son back??

No one can answer without seeing the papers. Generally, if he ignores the papers, his rights are permanently terminated. (He actually already knows the answer as the papers clearly told him what his rights were).
He needs to get a copy of the paperwork and go and see an attorney. If the adoption was not finalized or granted then he needs to immediately start exercising his rights under the divorce decree including paying support. He may need to file a contempt action to see his child. If the adoption was finalized there is little that anyone can do to overturn the final order. Typically, he should have been served with the adoption paperwork and then been required to file a response. He needs to see an attorney in South Carolina and possibly GA, depending on where they were divorced.
