Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My friend is in the navy and his younger sister is back home in the city I live in. Recently the sister and the mom's boyfriend got into an argument and she left home. Now she has no where to live and her brother wants her to live with me for a little while unitl he can get the papers to be her legal guardian. My question is what are the consequences of me taking in a 16 year old? Can the family turn on me and I get in trouble for just trying to help? I'm only 21 years old & there isn't much I can do....

Thanks for your time!!!

If she is a runaway, yes you can get in trouble. Absent physical danger, let the family resolve their own issues.
