In Georgia, can you file a motion for contempt while a motion for a new trial (filed by opposing counsel) is pending?

A party can file anything they want. Whether it has merit, or may subject the filing party to sanctions, is a question for your lawyer who knows all the facts.

You can file the phone book too, but that would make little sense. Why would you file for contempt of an order that is under review befroe it was final?
