Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Under Georgia law for someone filing for Widows years support. Does the person filing have to provide documentation to substantiate the amount of money they are asking for ?

Can this ber contested ? and if so, what does the contestor have to provide as documentation ?

Years suport in Georgia is an allowance from the estate, and can sometimes be the whole estate.

It certainly can be contested by other heirs, since it takes away from inheritance under a will or intestate succession. Since each case is unique there is no answer that anyone can give you as to what might be needed in a case where we have no facts.

It would be unwise for someone to seek Years Support without legal counsel and certainly anyone arguing against the award should have counsel.
