Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

my girlfriend is 16 and im 17. she doesnt like her stepdad so she wants to move out. her mom wants to get a lawyer to transfer over her duaghters rights. i dont feel the need for this. is there any other way to get her mom to agree to let her move out without invoving emancipation, lawyer, or court?

If a court order gave her mother custody, the order has to be modified to change custody legally.
