Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Is it possible for grandparents with full custody of their granddaughter to transfer custody to the child's father? To speed the process, is it possible to give them temporary custody, until it becomes permament? How long approximately would that take?

The case involves a 10 old child, whose mother relinquished all her parental rights.
