granma wants custody of her granchildren

My son die, and the mother of his two children went and drop them off with me for a visit four years ago. since then i have not hear from her. what can I do to get legal custody of them? I live in Acapulco, Mex. the children were born in atlanta GA

It may be possible for you to be appointed as legal guardian of the children, but the fact that you live in Mexico complicates things. Consult with a local attorney.
