Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Grounds for change of custody
While in my ex's care, one of my children who is 14 decided to go out of the house after midnight and cut through a fence with bolt cutters, get in a truck with the keys in it and drive around the construction site until the cops came. My 14 yr old was driving and decided to jump out of the truck along with the friend that was in tow, and left the truck running. They ran from the cops back to my ex's house. The cops later went to my ex's house to talk to them about this.
I have primary physical custody and my ex gets liberal visitation (what I set up when we divorced). Would I be able to get my ex's custodial rights revoked because of this?

Re: Grounds for change of custody
That would be up to a judge. Just because a child gets into trouble while in a parent's care, does not necessarily mean it is that parent's fault or responsibility. It is possible the judge may decide that the child is not raised right by the custodial parent.
