Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
My husband was arrested a couple weeks ago of domestic violence against me. This is his second time being charged with this. I do not feel that prision time needs to be his punishment due to the fact that we have a lot of history together and we plus i live with his family and this is becoming a problem. At the time of the incident, i was very upset with him and a lot of things were said which made me not think. learly about the situation after he had hit me so i called the police and his mother and I wrote a statement. Is there any way I can have the charges dropped without having to go through an attorney or will i need one?

You need an attorney, but not for the reason you think. You need counseling. You need to visit a womens shelter to talk to all women who thought that their husband or boyfriend would change this time. They can probably take you to several graves of women who enabled and encouraged their abusers (and just made it worse).
Youyr post is terrifying, as your life is in danger. You are a victim of abuse and are being bullied by him and his family even now. PLEASE get away from this situation. Your life and health (mental and physical) are at stake, and the fact you have let this happen twice is evidence ofa truism - abusers almost never stop. Get a lawyer, pursue a TPO or even a divorce, and please get counseling. No woman should ever be hit or think that being hit is forgivable.
Good luck and God bless. And please help the DA put your abuser behind bars.
