Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My husband and I are in home separated and selling our home. I will be moving to another house with our 2 children (it was agreed upon by both of us), but do I need to file for divorce to make sure there aren't any abandonment legal issues down the road, or myself not getting half of the home equity?

What makes you thinkyou'll get half, or anything? Absent a court order, you can't be sure. It would be complete foolishness to move, get another home (whichcreates more legal issues) and not have something legalin place about the home, child support, custody,etc. In other words, you need a lawyer before you plan anything.
