Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My husband and I legally seperated in NY (where we both lived) and signed a child custody agreement saying it was ok for us to live in GA. The kids and I have been in GA for over 6 months. Can my husband stil file for divorce in NY or does he have to file in GA? If I file, where do I have to file?
