Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
My husband and I currently live in the same household and are seeking divorce in the future. He is not financially stable with his new and growing business to move out on his own yet. In GA, there is no legal seperation, but we are considered that due to the fact that we do not sleep together and we are living our own lives seperately. My question is since this has been going on a while and I want to move on but trying to be nice here and help him as well since we have 1 minor child and 1 adult child, but as far as dating for either or us, could that affect our divorce? Are there any options here since we are living under the same roof but want to go our seperate ways as far a living is concerned.? I feel stuck and don't know what to do.

You can file a divorce in Georgia at any time if sexual relations have ceased. That constitutes a "separation" for purpose of divorce. (It may or may not be a good or safe idea for some, but it can be done).
However, if you want to create a mess in a hurry, date and see men while you are still married. Besides the fact that adultery is still on the books as a crime, albeit rarely prosecuted, misconduct can affect the outcome of a divorce. The quicker you see a lawyer and file, the quicker you can get divorced and move on.
