Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My husband and I have been separated for 11 years. He thinks that we have to get a divorce for him to continue receiving his insurance. We have looked at " separation maintenance " and want to know if that will let him qualify to keep his insurance.

Your husband has it 100% backwards. Although this varies by company, most companies terminate insurance for the ex after a divorce. Many, but not all, companies will allow a spouse to stay on a policy after a separate maintenance degree. Either way you want a lawyer to draft things to protect you.
