Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Ex husband took my son

My ex and I went to court 3 weeks ago for contempt (he owes me 20K). He had no lawyer and I made another agreement with him. He was to resume child support (hadn't paid in 6 months) immediately, and pay 5K every two months starting October 1 until back money paid. He is 2 weeks behind on support again. He has had mostly nothing to do with my kids, but asked my 17 year old (very gullible)to come over (the others won't talk to him). He went over Friday. My son called me Monday and told me that he is not coming back, that his dad wants to be a dad, he's quitting school, not taking his SAT in Oct. and his dad got him a job 6pm to 6am at a truck stop. I want my son back, but how do I do it?

Re: Ex husband took my son

Well, one option is to go back to court and stop making deals and insist on going before the judge and insist on this time citing him for contempt and maybe having him put in jail and surely insisting on him paying. BUT, let me go above and beyond the call. He is 17. Within the next few months, he will be 18 and beyond the reach of all this. This is a battle for the heart and mind of a young man. The custody battle is really over here. Find a way to reach out and make peace, and by that I mean your son, not the father. You can e-mail me at [email protected].
