Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My husband walk out 2 yrs ago after he adopted my son and has

moved to Mississippi now. I want to know if there is such a thing as

running an add in the news paper or something that doesn't cost an arm and

a leg to get a divorce? I do not have a job and can't afford to hire a lawyer.

There are three ways to seek a divorce.

If he is locatable (either by you or the state child support unit), you will either have an uncontested divorce is he agrees on all issues including child support and custody, or a contested divorce if he does not.

If he cannot be located after proving to the court that you and the state conducted dilligent searches, you may be able to then do a case by publication.

Regardless, with a child at stake, you cannot afford not to have a lawyer.
