There is important information you omitted.
What exactly does your husband want? Full custody with limited visitation?
If so, was your husband married to the mother?
If not, has he legitimated the child?
If he has, is there a formal custody order?
If he hasn't legitimated the child or if he has, but he hasn't obtained a formal custody order, he can file a petition for legitimation and/or custody.
If the daughter has been living with the two of you full-time, it is likely this will continue.
If there is a formal custody order, but you want it modified, you have to show a material change.

As Paula said, what are youy trying to win? You've omitted way too many facts to answer. If there is a custody dispute, he needs a lawyer.
