Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Inheritance

I inherited my Mom's property when she passed away in November 2003, and am now getting divorced. Is there any possible way that my husband can try to claim part of that property? What are his rights regarding that? And mine?

Re: Inheritance

Generally, inherited property is not considered marital property and thus is not subject to equitable division in a divorce proceeding. However, there can be exceptions to this rule. I would recommend speaking with an attorney.
