Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Interstate custody

Court order was issued in 2000 in GA where I (CP) reside. NCP was living in AL. Court order stated that we meet halfway between AL and GA and included a meeting place. Since then, NCP has moved to TN. The order has not been modified to this day. I am driving through Atlanta traffic to meet him halfway alternating weekends and the child support ordered is not even enough to cover gas for one trip. Can the order be modified to lessen the alternating weekends (possibly in exchange for longer time in the summers or breaks from school) or adjust the meeting times and child support? Was NCP required to inform the courts about the move? Is a lawyer required?

Re: Interstate custody

Consult with a local attorney. The decree as well as all the facts that have taken place since then need to be reviewed.
