Rethink the representing yourself. If custody matters to you, invest the money that your child merits and hire counsel.

Your question indictaes just how badly you need to rethink being pro se. Before anyone should start a pro se case, they need to research the law and procedure well enough to know the basics, and it is completely improper to contact the judge. At best you will be ignored; at worst you will cause the Judge to be upset woth you for such a blatant violation of the rules and push the likelihood of success in your case further away.

Psych evaluations are not the norm in a case. If you have one in this case, it is all the more important that you seek legal counsel.
