What is the law on leaving state lines with kids without other parents knowledge?

There is no law. However, the other parent could file for custody should you leave, and you could be required to return the children to the state. Leaving without telling the other parent when and where you are going could be held against you if the case went to court. Taking the children away from the other parent, without sufficient reason, is not in their best interest. Children need the love of both parents. Even if you leave, the other parent should have access to the children. I suggest you speak to an attorney before making such a serious decision and possibly making a serious mistake as to future custodial rights.
