Legal Gaurdian

How would I become legal guardian of my girl friends teenage daughter without getting married or going thru the process of adoption? Both my girl friend and her daughter want this to happen.

You will need to file a guardianship proceeding in the local probate court. They will be able to provide you with the forms at the court house.
