Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

legal guardian

There is a 16 soon to be 17 yr old girl whom her aunt has legal custody of. Her aunt put her out of her home and she is living with her 19 yr old sister. she is unable to take care of her and she wants to live with my family. Her mother is heavily drug addicted. I need to know what I need to do to get her in school, have the medical permission to take her to the Docor and make all pertinent decisions for her.

First, you need to contact a local attorney. This is because you need to have a guardian appointed, presumably yourself. There is a lot of paperwork involved. You can try to do it yourself but I reccomend at least a consultation with an attorney.
