Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Legal guardianship
I would like to know the process or steps it takes to get legal guardianship of a child. There is no type of dispute involved. Parents are willing to sign guardianship to me.

Re: Legal guardianship
The probate court of the county in which the minor child is found has the authority to appoint a temporary guardian of the person or property, or both, of the minor. This process can be completed by filing a petition for guardianship with the probate court in the county in which the child resides. Assuming that all parties are willing to consent to the guardianship and that it is in the best interest of the child the court should sign an order granting you guardianship of the minor child.

Go to the Probate Court. They have a form for this.
