Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Legal Seperation

due to religious reasons we

only want to legally seperate so

we can file sep tax returns. We

have purchased and completed

the Marital settlement

agreement. How do I make it

legal? I mean we want it filed

with a court. Is there a form

for this? If so which one do I

get. Do I file it in same place

as divorce forms?

Re: Legal Seperation

First of all get your money back. I don't know what you bought, but there is no such thing as a legal separation case in Georgia.

There is something called separate maintenance, where one party sues the other for child support and/or alimony. That is a court case, and you should retain an attorney for it.

There is more to this than getting and filing a form.
